June 1, 2008 - Oak Ridge, Tennessee – The Oak Ridger, a 7,500 daily newspaper in Oak Ridge TN, has begun live operation on its new Vision Total Advertising system. The Oak Ridger becomes the 21st newspaper owned by Gatehouse Media, Inc. to use Vision Data software.

The installation of a 4 user display advertising system includes an interface to ad layout, and is a system designed to handle all display ad sales, billing and accounts receivable management. The Vision Total Advertising system features state-of-the-art contact management and sales functionality plus many innovations not available in other systems.

The Oak Ridger has also chosen to install the Vision Circulation Management System. This system provides The Oak Ridger with complete circulation distribution, billing and sales management functionality as well as an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) module, to handle E-Z Pay monthly debits from credit cards or checking or savings accounts, while bringing more management tools to an already strong, accounting-based program. Features like CASS certification enable The Oak Ridger to keep pace with changing postal happenings.

Advertising account masters and circulation household information have been converted to the new system as part of the installation. Each of these systems are run on a single Sun Microsystems Sun Fire V245 server.
