June 25, 2012 - RENSSELAER, NY – Thomas A Dempsey, president of Vision Data Corporation today announced the acceptance of an agreement to provide an extensive Vision Data-hosted menu of circulation, advertising and financial management services to the Journal Inquirer, (35,000 circulation daily) in Manchester, CT.
The Vision Total Advertising System provides sales management, billing, order entry and accounts receivable functionality. Total Advertising will also include Vision E-Tears electronic tearsheets, E-Statements, automated reporting and integrated CRM tools. The Journal Inquirer will handle their financial needs through the efficiency and proven functionality of the Vision Total Accounts Payable/General Ledger System.
The hosted environment will also include a 22-user Vision Circulation Management System, which provides the industry-current features of a tried and true performer, currently in use in over 600 newspapers. The VisionWeb Subscription Manager will also be added to their Web Page, allowing customers to purchase subscriptions, pay bills, schedule vacation stops, etc. 24/7 from their personal computer.
“With today’s technology, a newspaper can save the cost and complexity of maintaining their own in-house server”, explained Dempsey. “By having Vision Data host their system, a publisher saves an up-front server investment, the need to do daily backups and server-management . . . they simply access the system via the Internet to enjoy the same functionality they would find on an in-house server. They are assured of maximum up-time and the latest, most current system features.”
“Vision Data is one of the nation’s most experienced providers of hosted solutions for publishers, with over 10 years hosting experience,” continued Dempsey.. “In addition to Vision Data-hosted single paper or multi-publication systems, we are arguably the most experienced at providing multi-publication networked systems for newspaper groups, running off of a central server on both a regional and national basis.”
Installation of the Journal Inquirer system will begin immediately and they plan to be running on the system within 60 days.
