Vision Data releases new HomeLink version with direct billing interface to Total Advertising System.

October 20, 2004 - RENSSELAER, NY – Vision Data Equipment Corporation , Rensselaer, New York, who, in 2001, first introduced Vision HomeLink - a complete remote entry package that allows classified ad entry or display ad order entry via home or office PC, via the newspaper’s web site, today introduced a new version which will directly access the newspaper’s Total Advertising server for account information and rating.

In making the announcement, Thomas A Dempsey, President of Vision Data, indicated that the system has been in testing for some time at existing Vision Data customer sites with excellent results.

“The newest version of Vision HomeLinksaves the newspaper the cost and effort of maintaining two rating systems, as all rating is done directly from the newspaper’s central Vision Total Advertising server. The log-in features of this system allows the system to immediately bring account information to the screen for repeat customers. The Total Advertising system then stores all of the transaction data directly in that customer’s account file for future access or easy reference,” Dempsey continued.

The new system also features a unique WYSIWYG ad-building screen, designed to bring any newspaper plus revenue through it’s individual classification feature-selection windows that actually write the ad for the customer. The system then displays multiple up-sell versions of the ad with accurate pricing on each, again directly supplied by the Vision Total Advertising server. The customer selects the version of the ad he prefers and can then charge it directly to his credit card. The finished ad then resides in a “hold” queue for someone at the newspaper to review for propriety and click “release for publication”. There is no need for re-entering the ad or doing anything with the billing as this is all done automatically.
