Unify DBIntegrator Client V8 The installed ODBC Driver is identified in the ODBC Data Source Administrator (see the Drivers tab) as follows: Name: Unify DBIntegrator Client Version: 8.00.00.00 Company: Unify Corporation File: UDBCLT32.DLL Date: 1/27/05 Extract the contents of the .zip file in an empty folder, DBI_V8, accessible from the PC where the Client is to be installed, or onto a CD. To begin the installation on systems with the "Run as administrator" feature, right-mouse click on setup.exe and use it (to be sure), otherwise double click on the setup.exe file. When you get to the InstallShield Wizard "Setup Type" dialog, select the "ODBC Driver" option. The contents of the Destination Folder (the default pathname is Program Files\Unify\DBIntegrator\) are a work-in-progress. All you really care about are the files installed in the WINDOWS\System32 (may vary) folder. I suggest that you name the Destination Folder "preRel_DBIClient8." It was reported that you may end up with two copies of odbcad32.exe, the ODBC Administrator, due to where it is installed by various packages. For example, one may be found in WINDOWS, and another in the System32 sub-folder. To resolve this if both are present, rename the (older) one (reportedly in the WINDOWS folder) so it is not found. An example of the error reported follows: The ODBC resource DLL (C:\WINDOWS\System32\odbcint.dll) is a different version than the administrator (C:\WINDOWS\ODBCAD32.EXE). When you use the Windows Add/Remove Programs utility to UNinstall this client, use the Remove option when the choice is presented, not the Modify or Repair options. If you need to uninstall this pre-release DBIntegrator Client, and install the generally available DBIntegrator Client for ODBC, you will need to remove the following files from the WINDOWS (or WINNT\System32 or similar) folder after uninstalling this pre-release DBIntegrator Client, and before attempting to install the generally available DBIntegrator Client: udbclt32.dll udbclt32.cfg scucrres.dll oemscucr.dll oemcln32.dll udbclt32.cnt The following notes are related to installing on 64-bit Windows: When installed on a (64-bit) Windows Server 2008 Enterprise with SP 2, attempts to add a DSN, or edit an existing DSN using the 32-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator (C:\WINDOWS\system32\odbcad32.exe on some systems) results in a red (X) error pop-up with title "CTL3D32.DLL", saying: "This application uses CTL3D32.DLL, which has not been correctly installed. CTL3D32.DLL must be installed in the Windows system directory. [ OK ]" You should be able to continue to install DSNs after pressing the OK button and continuing. This has been confirmed, testing on 64-bit Windows 7. The Ctl3d32.dll is not actually needed on the newer Windows systems. You may see that it is in the SysWOW64 folder (along with the driver, C:\Windows\SysWOW64\udbclt32.dll).
